Birdwatching for Kids

Limit 15, ages 6 and up. RSVP to trip leader to reserve your spot after 6:00 pm on Monday March 20. Early registration is not accepted.

Trip Leader: Dave Sutherland, dsutherland4747@gmail.com https://www.davesutherland.co/

Participants must follow CDC and State of Colorado and Boulder County Public Health guidelines on the COVID-19 pandemic. Participants must also follow individual field trip leader requirements, such as fully vaccinated status to register and/or wearing masks when in close proximity. And, PLEASE stay home if you are feeling unwell.

Many would-be birders are intimidated by identical little birds with similar names. Can’t tell a Yellow-breasted Noddlehatch from a White-winged Towhagen? Then join naturalist Dave Sutherland for a fun, kid-friendly introduction to birds. Bring binoculars and bird guides if you have them, although some will be supplied. And be warned….it’s April Fools Day!  Be ready to shout if if you think Dave is trying to fool you!

Where to meet: Meet at the Sawhill Ponds trailhead (Please don’t go to the adjacent Walden Ponds!) From 75th St, turn west on the dirt road at about 0.6 miles miles north of Valmont Rd and travel about 0.4 miles to the trailhead. Directions and more here.
