Join one of Colorado’s best known and most accomplished birdwatchers, Bill Kaempfer, for a weekend viewing prairie specialties. You will leave Boulder on Saturday morning, heading north east and birding along the route. That afternoon, we will meet the ranch owner who will give an overview of his operation. After intimately viewing the Prairie Chicken’s mating rituals early Sunday morning, we will return to our hotel in Wray for breakfast and then wend our way back to Boulder visiting hot spots.
BCAS will serve a gourmet lunch on Saturday afternoon. You are responsible for your hotel, which will be at the only lodgings in Wray, CO, the Cobblestone Inn and Suites, at approximately $90-$100, as well as dinner on Saturday evening at the lovely 4th and Main Restaurant and lunch on Sunday.
Bill is Senior Vice Provost at CU Boulder, and Associate Vice Chancellor for Budget and Planning as wells as a Professor of Economics. He has been a dedicated participant in many, many BCAS events including as the organizer and compiler for our Boulder Christmas Bird Count, a winning participant and top money raiser for our Birdathons, a willing leader for countless field trips including previous Interludes trips. The fee includes a donation to the Wray Schools, asked for by the private land owner.
