Blue-eyed Darner (f)

(Aeshna multicolor). One of our largest dragonflies, like other darners, it is rarely seen perched. When perched it hangs vertically from vegetation. Key field marks: bright blue eyes. Habitat: ponds, slow moving streams, and open fields. Season: spring to fall. Photo by Ann Cooper.
