Paddle-tailed Darner (m)

(Aeshna palmata). This strong flier, like other darners, is rarely seen perched. Key field marks: face and thoracic stripes are greenish and the appendages at the abdomen tip are paddle-shaped. Habitat: ponds, lakes, and small streams. Season: spring to fall. Photo by Ann Cooper.
