Once in a Blue Moon: All Ages Family Program

Limit 20, RSVP to trip leader to reserve your spot after 6:00 pm on Monday August 21. Early registration is not accepted.

Trip Leader: Dave Sutherland, dsutherland4747@gmail.com https://www.davesutherland.co/

Once in a Blue Moon, we have two full moons in the same month! To celebrate this rare event, join community naturalist Dave Sutherland for a pale moonlit walk to explore legends, stories and hard science about our nearest celestial neighbor. Bring a headlamp just in case, but we won’t use them – the Blue Moon will provide plenty of light! Appropriate for all ages.

Participants must follow CDC and State of Colorado and Boulder County Public Health guidelines on the COVID-19 pandemic. Participants must also follow individual field trip leader requirements, such as fully vaccinated status to register and/or wearing masks when in close proximity. And, PLEASE stay home if you are feeling unwell.

Where to meet: Meet at the Sawhill Ponds trailhead. From 75th St, turn west on the dirt road at about 0.6 miles miles north of Valmont Rd and travel about 0.4 miles to the trailhead. Directions and more here.
