Sandstone Ranch with Carl Starace

Participants must follow CDC and State of Colorado and Boulder County Public Health guidelines on the COVID-19 pandemic. Participants must also follow individual field trip leader requirements, such as fully vaccinated status to register and/or wearing masks when in close proximity. And, PLEASE stay home if you are feeling unwell.

We will meet at 9am at Sandstone Ranch Community Park and Nature Area. Possible birds include Northern Harrier, Great Horned Owl, Ferruginous Hawk, Osprey, Prairie Falcon, White-Crowned Sparrow, American Tree Sparrow, Western Meadowlark, Ring-necked Pheasant and Killdeer.

Where to meet: Meet at the upper parking lot at Sandstone Ranch. Turn south on Sandstone Drive from Ken Pratt/CO 119, about one mile east of Weld County Rd 1/County LIne Road. To get to the upper lot, travel about 1/3 mile on Sandstone Drive, make a quick left turn just past the second Comfort Station building and just after the beginning of a lake on your right. Travel uphill about 500 feet into the parking lot.
