Christmas Bird Count

Participate in the 80th annual Boulder Christmas Bird Count, at various locations around Boulder County. All are welcome — even those who think they know little about birds. What birds are in town for the holidays? Help us find them — contact us and we’ll help you find a compatible group.

We typically have 30 or so teams out covering our count circle, some in town, some on the plains, and some up in the foothills. To participate you can join or lead a group you have worked with in the past, or email Bill to get connected with a team that could use more helpers.

The count will conclude with an online compilation celebration at 5:30 pm so that we can all hear what was observed. Please contact your sector leader for the online meeting link.

NOTE: Actual field times will vary by sector/leader.

Participants must follow CDC and State of Colorado and Boulder County Public Health guidelines on the COVID-19 pandemic. Participants must also follow individual sector leader requirements, such as fully vaccinated status to participate and/or wearing masks when in close proximity. And, PLEASE stay home if you are feeling unwell.
